As a self-described Adventurer, here is Secrets of the Canyon: A Hike Down the Hermit Trail! Hiking the Hermit Trail of Grand Canyon is one of my favorite things to do. We have been to the Grand Canyon National Park several times and hiked other trails, visited the South Rim, North Rim, by train, camping, hiking, and several times have hiked all the way down to the Colorado River!
This is just a two-day stay, and I am going to hike partway down the Hermit Trail!
To get to the starting point of Hermit Trail, we take the Shuttle Bus from the Grand Canyon Village to Hermit Rest. There are eight stops before the end, and you can get on and off as you wish. It is about a 45-minute ride to the end.
Total Hike was 4.4 miles (7 km) and a 1,734 feet (529 m) decline and incline! A very long day on the trail of over six hours. But it was a successful adventure!
